It's Like Losing My Best Friend

I had been telling myself that it didn't mean anything.

That it had just been the wrong time of day.

Or the wrong position.

But we had a perfect storm today, and I was SOclose!

But no cigar...After an encounter with a "pinch hitter," and still no cigar, it became official.

I've lost my "O."

And that is hard to accept, as my "O" was fairly frequent, significant part of my life. Charlie Brown rather likes her too.

She shall be missed.

Question is, what do other women do when faced with the no depression v. no "O" conundrum? I have to cope with this and I'm not quite sure how.

  1. Well, I haven't been through it...so I've only got assvice instead of advice.

    1. Slumber Party sells stuff that is supposed to help.
    2. Adding heat is supposed to help (ie: a heated mass!ager).
    3. Try to explore new territory.

And last but not least, talk to your prescriber about it and see if there is a lower effective dose for you. Perhaps you CAN have the O and no depression. I know, for example, that there are lots of meds my grandmother is on that she takes a half-dose in the morning and the other half in the evening and that works better for her.

  2. Ummmm, I'm not talking about my grandmother's O here. I don't know anything about that for her. I just know that the half-dose 2x-a-day does a better job of limiting unwanted side-effects than a full dose once a day.

  4. I dunno Heath... dadgumit. Talk to the Doc for shizzle my nizzle.

You have bigger balls than I do, which is what I love about you! Blogging about your O. ROFL

    ...."They are SO doing it"....

Liz's comment almost made me shoot coffee through my nose by the way. "Not my grandmother's O". Oh dear, priceless.

  5. i third liz's comments. i was on some meds a while ago and the SAME thing happened to me (i didn't however get the poops) . . . talk to your doctor, maybe taking the meds half and half or at a lower dose may help and . . . time. it took a combination of the previous and some time to get my O back.

    good luck.

*at first i thought you were talking about a magazine subscription. and i thought: just call customer service . . . i'm a dork!

  6. Not sure how open-minded CB is to the idea, but do you have a vibrator? It would definitely help move things along....

  7. I've faced it. In the end, I chose to use xanax on an "as needed" basis - because my drive is nonexistant to begin with with and adding in the meds just sent things over the edge and creating a lot of marital strain. Normally that works okay, but when things get really difficult I wonder if I've made the right decision.

  10. Yes...pinch hitter correctly identified ;)

But, perhaps we ought to go shopping...hmmm....

Will talk to the dr. about the half-dose thing....though I don't know how well I can do two doses...it's about all I can do to get the one.
